"This has been a most rewarding experience and I have enjoyed every moment working here." Everyone was practically asleep with the exception of Ms. A who listened to every word I had uttered in my farewell address and was smiling, she always had something to smile about had Ms.A and Mr. A who was busy noting points that he could use in his farewell speech 40 years later maybe. So that was done with, the bossman got up on cue and said something appropriate and befitting the occasion. It was my last day in Axa for I was leaving to continue my education and sell my wares elsewhere.
My journey of approximately a year and half had thus ended. Dhruva Salvi, Claims Advisor, Property Claims had become an ex employee, history. Most people were glad about it I suppose, and so was I for this broke the monotony of the past few months and I am always looking for something new, forever the audacious one. I wasn't exactly the one to have set things on fire and affected the company's profits in any way, however I was reasonably good at what I did, or at least so I liked to think of myself. The days were fun though, never any drab days and the people were principally the reason I suppose.
There were those who always were working diligently and seldom had time for anything else and then there were those like me, who were always more interested in what the others beside me did and ready to pull each others leg for all we were worth. Mr M and I used to have this laughing match, but he always won without trying, his basal voice was to blame. He even had a post it note from someone across the floor requesting that he laugh in a more restricted way because it disturbed others who came to work! Boy wasn't that fun. And so was throwing stationery at Ms. S who used to sit across me and asking Ms. R to "I am bored, come on praise me". But the thing that took the cake, cream and cherry was me falling over backwards off my chair and Ms T who was my mentor then choking on the call she was answering.
Most entertaining things include Ms. L trying to be professionally aggressive whilst speaking to our suppliers, course everyone and their uncles came to know by the end of her conversation what the little chat had been all about. That and Ms. P speaking to our UK counterparts on the fate of the latest Bollywood potboiler and the policyholders asking a certain Mr. S what "her" name was and what a nice voice "she" had. And then there was our bossman during the meetings, speaking in his sotto voice to make drive home a point, which I nearly always missed because my ears are attuned to register higher intensity sounds at close range.
More on this in the coming later editions, hope this makes a pleasant reading.
P.S. Based on facts and accounts which are dramatized and unintended to antagonize anyone or the political parties they may be associated to.
